Rhyce Murphy announced as RM Surveys Underground Asset Mapping Coordinator
We are delighted to announce Rhyce Murphy as Underground Asset Mapping Coordinator for RM Surveys.
When asked about his intentions for the role, Rhyce said,
Joining RM Surveys as Underground Asset Mapping Coordinator was a no-brainer. I was attracted to how the RM Surveys team pride itself on being a step ahead of the rest.
Their growth has been nothing short of fantastic, and I look forward to seeing what 2022 brings us at RM Surveys with the digital spatial data department consisting of HDS, UAM, 3D Modelling, and Dilapidation.
My intentions for working at RM Surveys are pure and simple, to be a part of transforming the way we deliver our data.
Rhyce’s strengths are already shining through as he hits the ground running to deliver customer-centred spatial data solutions.
About RM Surveys Underground Asset Mapping
As specialists in Underground Asset Mapping, RM Surveys provide effective and considered spatial data solutions that meet a wide range of asset information requirements. Our tailored services can meet the most ambitious subsurface mapping demands with a diverse range of capabilities and expertise.
Utility locator markings often fail to stand the test of time in construction sites due to excavations, weather influences or being destroyed by site traffic, which results in increased costs for additional markings. Only qualified surveyors can map hidden underground assets and provide coordinated data that can be used at any time in the future, even when the site markings have long faded.
Changing ground levels can adjust the depth of underground utilities, which poses another threat to construction sites. Instead, the depth can always be accurately determined by mapping the elevation of underground assets, even when the ground levels change as the project progresses. Establishing clash points or the potential movement of critical utilities during the design stage cannot be left to chance.
That is why RM Surveys recommend a full underground utility survey should be completed for systematic accuracy when making critical decisions around critical assets. The outputs can be integrated with Building Information Modelling (BIM), Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Asset / Facility Management Systems, saving clients time and money during the design and construction phase, ensuring the best possible outcome for any project. This mapping data can also identify potential clashes with new construction and existing infrastructure. All point elevations are recorded and relevant to AHD (Australia Height Datum), and a single click in AutoCAD can determine distance.
